nvidia-331 software package provides Transitional package for nvidia-331, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install nvidia-331
nvidia-331 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the nvidia-331 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep nvidia-331 *
You will get with nvidia-331 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
